Noe Earns Second Pac-10 Player of the Week Honor

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Arizona State freshman guard Jill Noe has been named the Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 30-Jan. 5, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Noe, from Tualatin, Ore., averaged 21.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 4.5 steals as the Sun Devils posted home wins over Oregon and Oregon State. On the weekend, Noe shot 41.7 percent from the field (10-of-24), 42.9 percent from 3-point range (6-of-14) and 83.3 percent from the free throw line (15-of-18). The victories extended Arizona State's Pac-10 home winning streak to 10 games.
In the 70-58 win over Oregon State, Noe paced ASU with a career-high 23 points and 11 rebounds for her second double-double this season. She also posted a team-high six steals and shot 58.3 percent from the field (7-of-12). In the 78-63 win against Oregon, Noe scored 18 points and added team highs of nine rebounds and seven assists.
Arizona State (10-3 overall, 2-2 Pac-10), hits the road this week for Pac-10 games at Washington (Jan. 9) and Washington State (Jan. 11). Entering the week, Noe is ranked fifth in the Pac-10 in scoring (15.5 ppg). She is tied for the league lead in steals (2.92 spg), ranks second in free throw percentage (.841), sixth in 3-point field goal percentage (.446) and is seventh in assists (3.77 apg).
The Player of the Week honor is the second of Noe's career and the 26th all-time selection for Arizona State. Noe is the first true freshman to earn Player of the Week honors twice in one season since Stanford's Nicole Powell in 2000-01.
