Logan Tom Nominated for 2002-03 Honda Award

Stanford, Calif. - Senior outside hitter Logan Tom is one of four candidates in volleyball for the 2002-03 Honda Sports Award to determine the top woman collegiate athlete in that sport. The winner for volleyball will become a nominee for the Honda-Broderick Cup, which is awarded annually to the nation's outstanding Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year.
Tom joins Emily Adams (Southern California), Aury Cruz (Florida) and Kim Willoughby (Hawaii) on the list of nominees for this year's award.
Tom, who hails from Salt Lake City, Utah, led Stanford to a second place finish nationally in her final season on The Farm. Tom, a four-time first-team All-American, was tabbed 2002 AVCA National Player of the Year in addition to being named to the Final Four All-Tournament team.
The 6-1 outside hitter was a member of the U.S. National Team that finished fourth in the Sydney Olympics and was named 2002 Pac-10 Player of the Year last month. Tom was the 2001-02 Honda Award winner in volleyball as well.
