EVENT: Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Track & Field Championships

DATE: Friday & Saturday, February 21 & 22, 2003

SITE: Jackson Track at the Idaho Center (Nampa), Boise State University

Track & FieldFacilities: 200 meter Banked mondo track. Eight lane straightway, six lane on the oval. Cement surface throwing ring, Hammer Throw is contested inside with a dirt landing area. All runways are platformed mondo.

Track shoeFacilities:Flats or spikes no longer than 1/4'. This will be strictly enforced. NO needles/pin spikes. Only 1/4 pyramid, or christmas tree 'compression' style spikes are allowed. If an athlete does not comply, he/she will not be allowed to compete.

ImplementWeigh-in: Weigh-ins will be at the shot put area starting one hour prior to your event. Each thrower must provide their own implements.

PracticeTimes: The Jackson Center will be available for practice at the following times: Thursday, February 20: 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm. There will be no practice times available on Saturday, February 22. The competition site will be available at 11:00 am on Friday, and 8:00 am on Saturday.

Trainers: Trainers may set up in area the Northeast corner of the Jackson Center.

Results: Results will be available at the conclusion of each days competition. Heat sheets for Saturday's completion will be available Saturday morning at meet site.

DressingFacilities:Dressing facilities but NO SHOWERS will be available at the Jackson Track.

Personal StereoDevices: Please be advised that personal stereo devices (e.g. Walkman, portable CD players, headsets, etc) will be prohibited at all times on the competition floor.

CoachesMeetings: A mandatory Technical Friday, February 21, at 10:00 am A mandatory Business meeting will be held on Saturday, February 22, at 8:30 am in the Idaho Center Lounge next to the Jackson Center


General Inf.: All meet entries will be hosted by EZMEETS.COM. You will be emailed your teams personal password at the end of January. However, meet information can be obtained now at:

Entrants: The maximum number of entrants an institution shall have competing is 27. Please list your 27 participants and their entered events on the enclosed entry form. MPSF standards must be met in order to participate.Exception: 1. Each team is entitled to one entry in each event even though the event standard has not been met. Please indicate 'right of entry' by placing 'RE' next to event number.

2. Each team has three 'wild card' opportunities - one individual x 3 events, three individuals in one event, etc. Please indicate 'Wildcard' by placing 'WC' next to event number.

Entries: All entries must be enterd at EZMEETS.COM by 5:00 pm (MST) the Monday, February 17th prior to the meet. Preliminary scratches must be declared by 5:00 pm (MST) Wednesday, February 19, with final scratches due at the coaches technical meeting on Saturday morning. Scratched student-athletes will not be allowed to compete in any event at the meet. A scratch means total elimination from this competition. Also, no additions will be permitted after entries are submitted on Monday, February 17. Heat sheets will be provided at the coaches technical meeting on Friday.NOTE: 1. High altitude performances - indicate altitude adjusted marks (per 'NCAA Handbook') with 'aa'. 2. All standards must be met during indoor competitions between December 1, 2002 - February 15, 2003. 3. All Field event marks must be measured and submitted in metric form. 4. Hand times are only to be submitted if the automatic electronic system fails at the meet for which you are submitting marks.

AdmissionCost: Adults: $8.00 one-day pass. $13.00 two-day passes. Students: $5.00 one day passes. $7.50 two-day passes. Under 12: FREE

Awards: First three (3) places in each event, first only in relays, athlete Of the meet, coach of the year, and winning team will also Be awarded. Awards can be picked up at the conclusion of the Meet on Friday and Saturday.

Scoring: NCAA Scoring as follows: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.

Preliminary EventInformation: 1. Throws and Horizontal Jumps: 8 to final 2. 60M and 60M HH: Fastest eight times to a one race final. 3. 200M and 400M: Fastest eight times to a two heat final (Lanes 4-5-3-6). 4. 800M: Top two in each heat and (?) to make eight person final (waterfall start). 5. Mile: Top two in each heat and (?) to make twelve person final. 6. 3000M and 5000M: Anticipate a one race final only. 7. 4X400M Relay: Top four times in fast heat.

Numbers: Hip numbers will be provided and are mandatory.

Warm-ups: All warm-ups must take place on the concourse and outside the Jackson Center. Absolutely no warming up on the track!! Last Minute preparation will be allowed on backstretch when an event is not in progress.

Staging area: All athletes must report to the clerk of the course at track level, at the North East area no later than 15 minutes prior to their event. Field event contestants should check-in with the head official in their field event area.

Cool-Downs: After each running event/field events, all participants must leave the infield. Cool-downs are not permitted on the track. Also, field event athletes not participating must be in the stands. Absolutely no coaches will be allowed on the infield, exceptions will be discussed at technical meeting.
