Arizona Holds Off USC

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Shawntinice Polk had 19 points and 12 rebounds as No.22 Arizona held on to beat Southern California 79-76 on Thursday night.

Dee-Dee Wheeler added 23 points, Robin Roberson 13 and Aimee Grzyb had 11for the Wildcats (11-4, 5-2 Pac-10).

Ebony Hoffman and Aisha Hollans each had 21 points, and Rometra Craig added17 for USC (6-11, 1-5), which trailed 37-27 at halftime.

The Wildcats led 75-61 with 4:21 remaining before USC went on a 15-4 run.Hoffman and Hollans both hit 3-pointers, and Craig sank a driving layup as theTrojans closed to 79-76 with 30 seconds left.

But Craig missed a 3-point attempt with 8 seconds left as USC lost itsfourth consecutive game.

Polk, a freshman held out of the starting lineup for violating team rules,still recorded her 11th double-double in 15 games.
