Arizona Softball Team Picked to Finish Second in the Pac-10

The Pac-10 Conference announced Thursday the 2003 softball coaches' poll. The Arizona Wildcats were picked to finish second in the poll. The Cats received 44 points along with three first-place votes. UCLA finished first in the conference last season and was selected to finish first in 2003.

California was picked to finish fourth after defeating Arizona, 6-0 in the College World Series Championship game. The Cats finished the 2002 season with a 55-12 record and a 15-6 mark in the Pac-10.

Arizona will hold a Lead Off Luncheon on Thursday, Jan. 23 at noon. It will be held at the Viscount Suite Hotel.

The 2003 season starts with the Cats hosting a double-header exhibition game against Phoenix College on Friday, Jan. 24 at 3 p.m.
