Three Bruins Drafted By MLS Teams

UCLA soccer players Scot Thompson, Jimmy Frazelle and Ryan Futagaki will join a multitude of Bruins in Major League Soccer after being selected in Friday's MLS SuperDraft.

Thompson, a defender from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, was the first Bruin chosen, being selected in the second round as the 16th overall pick by the Los Angeles Galaxy. He will join the defending MLS champions, along with midfielder Frazelle, who was a fifth-round pick (50th overall) by the Sigi Schmid-coached Galaxy. Midfielder Futagaki rounded out the Bruin draftee list, being selected by the Chicago Fire in the sixth round (54th overall).
