Pelle Earns Big 12 Player of the Week

DALLAS - Colorado senior Stephane Pelle was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Player of the Week after his game winning shot helped Colorado to a 60-59 win against defending Big 12 champion Kansas last week. The 6'8" forward from Yaounde, Cameroon scored a career-high 27 points, including 15 in the second half despite having three personal fouls at halftime.

Oklahoma State junior Tony Allen has been a key on the Cowboys' 14-game winning streak averaging 19 points in two road wins was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Rookie of the Week. Both honors are chosen by a media panel.

Pelle is the second Buffalo player to garner the conference player of the week award this season as David Harrison earned Big 12 accolades during the first week of conference voting (Nov. 25).

Against Kansas, Pelle was 10-for-16 from the field for the game (career high in field goals made) and also went 7-for-8 from the free throw line against the Jayhawks. Pelle's final basket was the game-winner with 25.3 seconds remaining helping Colorado snap KU's Big 12 record 23-game conference winning streak. It was also CU's first win versus Kansas since the 1991 season.

Pelle is averaging 11.2 points and 8.7 rebounds per game for the 12-5 (2-2 Big 12) Buffaloes.
