No. 33 Cougars head to Alabama

THIS WEEK: The Washington State women's tennis team faces some new foes this weekend when they travel to Tuscaloosa for the first two dual matches of the season. The Cougars, ranked 33rd in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's preseason rankings, will face No. 38 Alabama Friday and Penn State Saturday.

HEAD COACH CARI GROCE ON THIS WEEKEND: 'I am looking forward to seeing how our team will work together this weekend. I'm interested to see how we come together as a team. Our players are going to have to step up and play some big time tennis against some solid teams.'

COUGARS IN THE RANKINGS: The Cougars are anchored by junior Lorena Arias, ranked No. 77 by the ITA. Arias joins with doubles teammate Chris Martinez to form the No. 45 doubles team in the nation.

NEXT WEEK: The Cougars next competition will be home matches against Hawaii (Feb. 7 at 1:00 p.m.) and Long Beach (Feb. 8 at 11:00 a.m.) at the Stadium Way Tennis Center.
