Andrew Medley Joins Arizona Men's Golf Roster

TUCSON, Ariz. - University of Arizona director of golf Rick LaRose announced Wednesday that Andrew Medley has joined the team. The senior will be eligible to play immediately.

Medley, a 6-foot-2 native of Jackson, Miss., played three seasons at the University of Mississippi. As a junior in 2001-02, he ranked second on the team with a 73.45 stroke average that included two top-10 finishes. His best career finish was a tie for third place at the 2002 Country Club of Louisiana Classic, where he tallied a 66-72-70=208 (-8). Medley's opening-round 66 in that event was a career low.

In three years with the Rebels, Medley posted a 73.73 career stroke average with nine career top-20 finishes, including five top-10 efforts. An outstanding student, Medley was a three time Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll selection. He was also named to the University of Mississippi Athletic Association Honor Roll as a freshman redshirt in 1998-99.

An accomplished amateur player, Medley has three career top-20 finishes as well. He won the 2001 Eastern Amateur title with a 66-65-74-68=273, finished second at the 2002 Mid-Atlantic Amateur with a 71-67-67-75=280, and placed 13th at the 2001 Southern Amateur after carding a 75-74-74-70=293.

Medley and the Wildcats open play in Spring 2003 season Feb. 3-4 at the PING-Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson, Ariz.
