Stanford Women Sign Elizabeth Harrison And Carly York To National Letters-Of-Intent
Jan. 29, 2003
STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford University Women's Crew is proud to announce the signing of Elizabeth Harrison and Carly York to National Letters-of-Intent beginning with the 2003-04 school year.
Head Coach Aimee Baker states, 'We are thrilled to have these top recruits join our team.'
Harrison comes to Stanford from Snohomish, Washington. With less than two years of rowing experience at Everett Rowing Association Harrison has already emerged as one of the top rowers in the country. Her 7:12 2k erg time places her as one of the fastest junior rowers in the US and provides great promise for the accomplishments she will enjoy as a collegiate oarswoman.
York comes to Stanford from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she rows for Oklahoma Rowing Association. York was a member of the 2002 National team that competed at the World Championships and 2001 Development Team. Her outstanding athletic abilities and her uncommon work ethic have made her a standout among junior rowers.
Both athletes will add a great deal of depth and talent to the Stanford team; coaches and current team members are eager to welcome them to the Cardinal family.
