ASU ANNOUNCES 2003 FOOTBALL SEASON TICKET PRICES
Jan. 31, 2003
TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University has announced a significant change in pricing on season and single-game ticket prices for the 2003 football season, Sun Devil Director of Athletics Gene Smith announced Friday.
Every ticket category available to the general public was reduced by some percentage. Sun Devil season tickets and single game tickets, depending upon seat location, were reduced by as much as 38 percent. In fact, 51-percent of the total seats in Sun Devil Stadium have been reduced between 16 and 38-percent.
'By cutting our prices we have responded to the market and to what people have given us in terms of feedback,' says Smith. 'We hope that these price levels can translate to additional season ticket holders.'
An informal survey of the remaining Pacific-10 Conference schools by the ASU Athletic Ticket Office shows that ASU will have the lowest prices on season and single-game tickets, top to bottom, in 2003.
The benefits of owning season tickets to ASU football include insuring a seat for the ASU-UA game (ASU's arch-rival date Nov. 28), bowl game ticket priority and the opportunity to purchase a parking pass. Season ticket holders also receive additional price savings by purchasing season tickets in non-donation sections rather than purchasing on a single-game basis.
In addition to the overall drop in season and single-game ticket prices, the department has also increased the pricing opportunities for ASU fans throughout the stadium, offering a variety of different pricing structures to meet the needs of all constituents. New price levels include: lower and upper endzones and split level pricing in the upper level sidelines.
ASU is also pleased to announce the creation of 'Koetter's Korner' in Section 1 of Sun Devil Stadium. 'Koetter's Korner' (Section 1) will now offer fans the opportunity to purchase tickets for $5 each game. The seating capacity in 'Koetter's Korner' is limited to 434 seats and will be open to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets in 'Koetter's Korner' will go on sale the Monday before each home game. Ticket limits will be imposed in order to guarantee the opportunity for as many patrons as possible to take advantage of this exciting offer.
ASU officials have borrowed the concept of the 'Pac-10 Pack' from Sun Devil men's basketball, creating a four-game package (USC, Oregon, California and Arizona) for $120 each. There are 2,700 seats that will be available in this category in sections 12, 13, 24 and 25 (lower level).
ASU football season ticket renewal forms will be mailed February 4, 2003. New season tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, February 11 at the Sun Devil Athletics Ticket Office (480-727-0000). The renewal deadline is Friday, March 7. 2003 single-game tickets go on sale Friday, August 1.
