No. 6 ASU Defeats No. 13 Arizona In Gymnastics, 196.950-196.175

The No. 6 ranked Arizona State University women's gymnastics team defeated No. 13 University of Arizona, 196.950-196.175, Friday night in front of 972 fans at the McKale Center in Tucson. ASU is now 5-1 on the year.
ASU junior Maggie Germaine won the all-around title at 39.625, tying a career-high set earlier this year versus Washington. Senior Ashley Ellsberry was second, posting a career-high tying 39.600 (also set last week at Utah). Sun Devil frosh Ashley Kelly was third (39.475).
Vault was won by ASU's Jada Cox (9.925) and Cassidy Vreeke (.9.925), who tied for first. Beam was won by Ellsberry (9.950), tying a career-high. She earned a perfect 10.0 from one of the two judges on the event. Germaine and Kelly of ASU tied for first on bars (9.950), each establishing career-highs. Germaine won the floor exercise competition, posting a career-high 9.975. Germaine earned a 10.0 from one judge on that discipline.
ASU set a school record on bars with a 49.475.
The Sun Devils travel to Corvallis for a meet next Friday, February 7 at 7:00 p.m. at Gill Coliseum against Oregon State. ASU's next home meet is Sunday, February 16 versus UCLA at 2 p.m. MT.
