UW Celebrates National Girls & Women In Sports Day At Women's Hoops Game Saturday

SEATTLE, Wash. - Washington women's basketball will celebrate 'National Girls & Women in Sports Day' at the Huskies' game against UCLA, Saturday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m., at Bank of America Arena. The day's festivities include pre and post-game activities for Seattle area girls.

All young girls attending the game are encouraged to wear a uniform from a team they have played with. There will be a special ceremony at halftime, where these young girls will be paraded on the court in their uniforms. All girls are asked to meet in the East Court of Bank of America Arena with four minutes remaining in the first half.

Other activities, Saturday, include mini-clinics put on before the game by UW women's soccer and volleyball players in the East Court Gym. UW swimmers will also be available to sign autographs, as will Seattle Storm guard Felicia Ragland.

Saturday is also Team Autograph Day for the Husky women basketball players. They will sign autographs for an hour and a half following the conclusion of the game with UCLA.

A silent auction to benefit the women's basketball program will also be held Saturday, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
