Men's Tennis Falls To No. 17 Pepperdine, 6-1

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State men's tennis team (1-1) dropped their first dual of the season by a score of 6-1 to 17th-ranked Pepperdine (6-1) today in Fort Worth, Texas in the opening dual of the TCU Shootout. The Sun Devils will next play the loser of the TCU/Washington dual on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
Pepperdine opened the dual winning the first point by taking two of the three doubles matches. The Sun Devils duo of Ryan McBride and Pim Van Mele won the sole doubles match at the No. 3 slot by an 8-6 margin.
The lone singles match was won by newcomer Chris Letcher, who just joined the team and his older brother, Clinton, last Sunday. Letcher won on the No. 6 court in straight sets over Borzenski of Pepperdine, 6-3, 7-5.
