Baysa Invited to Try out for WUSA Pro Teams in Atlanta, San Jose and Washington

EUGENE - Former University of Oregon soccer player Chalise Baysa was invited to try out for three pro teams, while former teammate Sarah Peters was drafted and recent UO coach Keri Raygor was traded from from Boston to San Jose the same day.

Chalise Baysa, a senior for the Ducks in the fall of 2001 and their career leader in goals (31), shots (168) and points (53), was invited to team tryouts by three teams - Atlanta, San Jose, and Washington. The Oak Harbor, Wash., native spent the 2002-03 season finishing her academic coursework and also served as an undergraduate assistant coach for the Oregon squad.

Peters, second all-time career-wise among Duck goalkeepers in saves (337), shutouts (3), and minutes (4,809), was taken in the fourth round of the player draft with the 28th pick by the San Jose CyberRays.

Recent Duck assistant coach Keri Sanchez was traded from the Boston Breakers to her hometown of San Jose.
