Track And Field Lights Up The Track At The Husky Invitational

Seattle, Wash. - The USC track and field team sent four competitors to the Husky Invitational indoor meet this past weekend and came away with four wins.

USC captured two victories in the hurdles as senior All-American Ryan Wilson won the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 7.87. Also in the 60-meter hurdles, freshman Ginnie Powell--formerly of Seattle's Rainier Beach High--won her collegiate debut in front of her hometown fans, defeating UCLA's Sheena Johnson in 8.18.

The Trojan jumpers got off to a great start as senior All-American Julien Kapek won the triple jump with a mark of 54-6. Sophomore Allen Simms, a transfer from George Mason, kicked off his USC career with a win at 24-6.

The USC track and field teams kick off the outdoor season on Feb. 15 at the Long Beach Relays.
