Cougar Tennis Hosts Two Matches In Lewiston

THIS WEEK: The Washington State women's tennis team will host two dual matches this weekend indoors at Lewis Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. The Cougars, ranked 34th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's rankings, will face Hawaii Friday and Long Beach Saturday.

THE SERIES: Washington State has won 5 of 6 matches against Hawaii, including a 7-0 win last season (3/21). The match against Long Beach will be the first ever between the two schools.

HEAD COACH CARI GROCE ON THIS WEEKEND: 'I am looking forward to seeing how our team will work together this weekend. I'm interested to see how we come together as a team. Our players are going to have to step up and play some big time tennis against some solid teams.'

COUGARS IN THE RANKINGS: The Cougars are anchored by junior Lorena Arias, ranked No. 77 by the ITA. Arias joins with doubles teammate Chris Martinez to form the No. 45 doubles team in the nation.

NEXT WEEK: The Cougars next competition will be road matches against Boise State (Feb. 15 at 10:00 a.m.) and New Mexico (Feb. 16 at 10:00 a.m.). Both matches will be played in Boise, Idaho.
