Lovie Jung Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

Senior softball player Lovie Jung was named Pac-10 Player of the Week for Feb. 3-9. Over the weekend in the Fiesta Bowl Tournament Jung posted a .474 batting average, with five home runs, including a grand slam. Jung also had 11 RBI, with nine hits and eight runs scored.

Jung currently leads the team with a .471 batting average. She leads the team in runs (12), hits (16), doubles (5), home runs (7) and RBI (18).

This marks the second time Jung has received the award. Jung was named Pac-10 Player of the Week last year for the Week of March 19-24. This is the 74th time a Wildcat has received this award.

Oregon's Amy Harris was named Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week. Harris carries a 3-1 record. She picked up wins against No. 9 Florida State and No. 17 Georgia.

The Cats return to action this weekend when they host the Pepsi Arizona Softball Classic from Feb. 14-16.
