Stanford's John Hudgins Named Pac-10 Pitcher Of The Week

Walnut Creek, Calif. - Stanford junior right-handed pitcher John Hudgins (Mission Viejo, CA/Mission Viejo HS) has been named Pac-10 Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career. Hudgins held No. 4 Florida State to one run and struck out a career-high 10 batters in 9.0 innings of work to help Stanford to a 12-inning, 2-1 victory over the Seminoles last Friday, February 7.

Hudgins is 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA in his first three starts this season. He leads the team in strikeouts (19) and innings pitched (21.0).

The Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week award was the 61st time a Stanford player has been selected with the honor and the first time a Cardinal has won the award in 2003.

Stanford (3-5) hosts Fresno State in three-game series this Friday-Sunday, February 14-16 (6 pm, 1 pm, 1 pm, PT).
