Women's Basketball Guard to Miss Remainder of Season
Feb. 12, 2003
Tucson, Ariz. (Feb. 12) - University of Arizona women's basketball player Katrina Lindner will miss the remainder of the 2002-03 season after tearing the ACL in her left knee, announced head coach Joan Bonvicini on Wednesday. The redshirt freshman guard suffered the injury during practice on Feb. 7.
This is the second ACL injury for the Australia native, who had to redshirt the entire 2001-02 season after tearing the ACL in her right knee during the team's annual Red & Blue Game in October of 2001.
Lindner played in 10 games off the bench for the Wildcats this season, averaging 0.8 points, 0.4 rebounds and 5.0 minutes per game. She is scheduled to have surgery to repair the injury in early March.
Currently ranked No. 24 in the AP poll, Arizona is 16-6 overall and 9-4 in Pac-10 play heading into a game at UCLA on Friday.
