Women's Golf Finishes 17th at Rain-Shortened Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge

PALOS VERDES, Calif. - The Arizona State women's golf team finished in 17th place at the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge after Wednesday's final round was canceled due to rain. The Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge, which was hosted by Ohio State, was held Monday-Wednesday, Feb. 10-12 at the par 71, 5,912-yard Palos Verdes Golf Club.
The Sun Devils finished with a two-day total of 77-over 645 and ended up five strokes out of the top 15. Pepperdine won the rain-shortened tournament with a two-day total of 598. Pepperdine was trailed by USC (603), Arizona (606), Oklahoma State (607) and UCLA (608) in the top five.
Freshman Alissa Kuczka led the Sun Devils individually and finished in a tie for 27th with a two-day total of 13-over 155 (76-79). Sophomore Erin Tone ended up in 56th place after carding a seven-over 78 on Tuesday for a two-round total of 160 (81-78). Senior Blair O'Neal tied for 67th (84-80=164), followed by freshman Meredith Jones (88-84=172) and sophomore Josefin Gustafsson (82-91=173) who tied for 86th and 88th, respectively.
Individually, Pepperdine's Katherine Hull captured medalist honors with a two-day total of two-over par 144 (69-75).
Arizona State returns to action Feb. 24-26 at the Arizona Invitational at the Raven at Sabino Springs Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz.
