The No. 9 UCLA women's tennis team returns home today to face No. 17 Fresno State. UCLA is 5-1 all time versus the Bulldogs, winning 6-1 a year ago. Fresno State comes into the match at 3-2, splitting last weekend's matches with a win over Mississippi and a loss to No. 19 South Alabama. The Bruins will then make the trip to Arizona to face No. 8 Arizona State on Friday at 1:30 p.m. (MT) and No. 16 Arizona on Saturday at noon (MT). The two matches will not count toward the Pac-10 standings, though the Mar. 28-29 matches in Westwood will. Arizona State comes into the match at 5-0, defeating Oregon last weekend and with its best win over current-No. 13 William & Mary. Arizona stands at 2-1 after losing to the Ducks on Sunday. Last season, the Bruins swept both Arizona schools.
Bruins Sweep Season Series with Pepperdine . . .
UCLA defeated Pepperdine for the second time this season last Friday, winning 4-3 at Malibu. The victory followed a 6-1 win on Jan. 25 at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. After the Bruins took the doubles point, UCLA claimed the match with singles wins by Susi Wild, Sarah Gregg, and Anya Loncaric. Gregg knocked off national-No. 52 Veronica Koksova 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, beating a Pepperdine ranked opponent in each match this season. Last month, she beat Pepperdine's other ranked singles player, No. 91 Charlotte Vernaz.
Top-25 Gets Shake-Up, Bruins Stay Put . . .
In the weekly ITA Top-25, released February 12, the Bruins avoided a giant scramble that saw 20 of the top 23 teams switch places. While the Bruins occupy the No. 9 spot, they will take on six of the other nine top-10 teams. In total, 11 of the other 24 teams in the rankings appear on the Bruins' schedule. New team rankings will come out tomorrow, and new individual rankings will appear Feb. 26. Currently, UCLA boasts No. 6 Sara Walker and No. 84 Jackie Carleton.

Stella Sampras Webster Earns 100th Win . . .
UCLA's win over No. 11 Tennessee was the 100th of head coach Stella Sampras Webster's career. In her first six seasons, she guided the Bruins to five top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championships, including three top-five showings (1997, 2000, and 2002). In 2000, she was named the ITA West Region Coach of the Year. The former Stella Sampras married Steve Webster on January 3, 2003.
