Susan King, Azella Perryman Named To Verizon Academic All-District 8 Third Team

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Stanford University's Susan King (Richfield, MN) and Azella Perryman (Anchorage, AK) were named to the 2003 Verizon Academic All-District 8 Third Team, as announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
King, a redshirt sophomore, is a Pyschology Major with a 3.349 cumulative grade point average. The Cardinal's starting point guard is averaging 6.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
Perryman, a sophomore, has a 3.384 cumulative grade point average and has not declared a major. The starting forward is averaging 10.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists for the 20-3 Cardinal.
In order to be eligible for Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), must be a starter or an important reserve and be in at least their second season of athletic eligibility. A total of 59 eligible student-athletes were nominated by 32 different schools on the District VII ballot, and a total of 15 were honored (five each on the first, second and third teams).
