Senior Kim Harada Qualifies for NCAA's

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - - The University of Washington competed in the first day of competition at the 2003 Pac-10 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way this evening. Washington was led by senior Kim Harada who posted a NCAA qualifying time of 22.69 seconds and third place finish in the 50 freestyle. The Huskies are in seventh place with a 144.9 points.

Washington's 200 freestyle relay team finished fourth with a season high time of 1:31.98. Washington posted its second best time of the season in the 400-medley relay with a seventh place finish and time of 3:47.72.

The 2003 Pac-10 Women's Swimming and Diving and Men's Diving Championships continue tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 28. Preliminaries begin at 11 a.m. with the finals starting at 6 p.m. Races for Friday will include the 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke and 800-yard freestyle relay.
