Cal's My-Lan Dodd Named <i>Inside Gymnastics</i> Gymnast of the Week

Berkeley, Calif. - Cal's sophomore sensation women's gymnast, My-Lan Dodd, was recently named Inside Gymnastics West region Gymnast of the Week for the week ending March 2, according to Inside Gymnastics editor Jerry Wright. Dodd recently claimed the honor with a second place finish in the all-around at Arizona State's UNO Classic and a first place showing on the beam.
Dodd, in her second year with the team, currently holds the Cal-record score in the all-around (39.675), set this season at Arizona State (2/28). Along with her individual record score, she has also helped lead the Bears in an historic season that includes a No. 22 national ranking and three team record scores on the vault (49.375), beam (49.175) and all-around (196.475).
The Seattle, Washington native currently owns a spot in the Top 5 of every individual category at Cal all-time. In addition to her school-record all-around showing last week, Dodd owns a tie for first place all-time on the vault (9.95) and third place on the bars (9.925), beam (9.9) and floor (9.9).
Dodd and the Bears tackle No. 18 Arizona in the final home meet of the season tonight, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Haas Pavilion. The meet will be televised via Fox Sports Net and will air Sunday, March 16 at 2:00 p.m. on Fox Sports Bay Area.
