Alicia Hollowell Named Pac-10 Softball Pitcher of the Week

The Pac-10 Conference announced Tuesday that freshman Alicia Hollowell has been named Pac-10 pitcher of the Week for March 10-March 16. In four games of the KIA Klassic, Hollowell went 2-0 with two shutouts and had a 0.00 ERA.

Hollowell pitched 15 innings and struck out 32 batters. On Saturday against UNLV, Hollowell struck out a season high 18 batters. On the season, Hollowell has a 17-2 record and a 0.23 ERA. Hollowell has pitched 122 innings and has struck out 190 batters. She also has eight double-digit strikeout performances.

In the recent poll, Arizona moved to No. 1 with UCLA falling to No. 2. The Cats improve to 30-2 on the season. Arizona continues action this weekend when they face the Canadian National Team in an exhibition doubleheader on Friday, March 21 at 4 p.m. The Cats will take on No. 9 Cal State Fullerton in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 22 at noon.
