March 18, 2003

EUGENE - Oregon sophomore second baseman Erin Goodell (Roseburg) has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week for Mar. 10-16, Commisioner Tom Hansen announced today. It is the first such honor for Goodell and the second for an Oregon player this season.

Goodell was 2-for-3 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs in the Ducks' 10-2 victory over then-No. 17 Oregon State. Led by Goodell, Oregon, matched a season-high 13 hits and won its conference opener for the first time since 1998. It was also the Ducks' first win over Oregon State since 1999.

Goodell now has a team-high nine RBI and is one of three players with two home runs.

After the win, Oregon moved from 22nd to No. 20 in the Softball Collegiate Top 25 poll. The Ducks travel to Fort Collins, Colo., to play a doubleheader versus Colorado State Sunday before playing a single game Monday.- -
