UCLA greats Gail Devers (60m hurdles) and Amy Acuff (high jump) competed in the World Indoor Championships.
Devers won the 60m hurdles in a time of 7.81. It was her first career 60m hurdle World Indoor gold medal crown. 'I didn't like my start,' Devers said. 'But I came through in the end. I think I must have been running with a guardian angel on my shoulder.'
Acuff placed 10th in the high jump with a leap of 6-3.50.
Overall, Team USA ended the three-day competition with a record 10 gold medals, tallying 17 overall to top the medal charts. Russia was second with 12 medals, including five bronze. It was the second-best medal performance ever for the Americans at the World Indoors.
