Neuheisels Chair Merrill Lynch Invitational

March 21, 2003

Seattle - Following the Feb. 10 announcement by Merrill Lynch Invitational organizers of Rick and Susan Neuheisel as co-chairs for the 2003 Merrill Lynch Invitational, the Neuheisels have undertaken a comprehensive effort to rally early support for the event.

'Today, the real fundraising for the 2003 Merrill Lynch Invitational begins,' said Rick Neuheisel. 'I am excited to have formally begun the process of personally contacting major business leaders in our community to join Susan and myself in assisting the Merrill Lynch Invitational team and Children's Hospital in its expansion initiative.'

Susan was equally enthusiastic: 'I believe that we can make a difference with the Invitational - all toward increasing the contribution to Children's.'

To date, the Merrill Lynch Invitational has raised over $700,000 toward the hospital's expansion, the first since 1970.

'Rick and Susan's initiative and enthusiasm have provided real momentum for our efforts on behalf of the Children's Hospital for 2003,' said Merrill Lynch Invitational tournament director Dale Eldredge. 'They bring an incredible network, a great track record of community service and a high level of energy to the cause.'

The Neuheisels will serve as co-hosts at the event's fifth-annual Gala Dinner and Auction, again presented by John L. Scott Real Estate. The gala on Sunday, Aug. 10 (location tba) will feature a silent and live auction, soon-to-be-announced marquee entertainment and dinner, all benefiting Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center's Expansion Project. The $650 million expansion project is dedicated to increasing the number of places within the hospital to treat children.

The three-day event, a fundraiser for Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center is set to tee off August 10th, featuring the John L. Scott Celebrity Dinner and Auction, the prestigious Merrill Lynch Invitational Shootout, and the Mercedes-Benz Pro-Am tournament. On Aug. 11th the annual Charity Skins Match will be held and Aug. 12 will feature the Mercedes-Benz Pro-Am.

Golf hosts for the 2003 Merrill Lynch Invitational will be announced shortly.

As Neuheisel stated on Feb. 10: 'Both Susan and I are honored to accept the positions of co-chairs for the 2003 Merrill Lynch Invitational. Childrens' causes and Children's Hospital in particular, are very near to our hearts,' said Neuheisel earlier today. 'As parents, it is vital that we find ways to assist child health-care needs in our community. This is our way to help make a difference.'

The 2003 event marks the third year of the Invitational's three-year fundraising commitment to Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center.
