AUSTIN, Texas - The No. 45th ranked Colorado women's tennis team lost their 11th straight match to 17th ranked University of Texas on Saturday afternoon at the Thousand Oaks Racquet Club in San Antonio. The Buffs lost a hard fought match, 5-2 (8-4, 2-3).
The Longhorns showed little mercy from the beginning, capturing the doubles point by sweeping the Buffaloes at all three positions. Lia Dimingo and Dominique Lemperle lost their match, 8-1 at the No. 1 position to the No. ranked duo of Kendra Strohm and Ziva Grasic. Morgan Sall and Kendra Strandemo at the No. 2 slot lost, 8-5 to Lindsay Blau and Kelly Baritot. While at the No. 3, Jessica Vanderdys and Sarah Burrows dropped an 8-4 to Michelle Krinke and Macey Breece.
The Buffs dropped all of its matches at the top four single positions. At the No. 1 spot Dominique Lemperle lost to Kendra Strohm (6-4, 2-6). Lia Domingo lost at the No. 2 spot, in straight sets to Kelly Baritot (6-0, 6-0). Jessica Vanderdys and Morgan Sall gave the Buffs something to cheer about at the No. 5 and 6 spot. Vanderdys and Sall posted (6-1, 3-1, ret.) and (4-3, ret.) victories over their Longhorn opponents. The wins improved both Vanderdys and Sall's spring record to 8-3, while both of them have won their last six in a row.
The Buffaloes face off against the No. 30th Aggies of Texas A&M on Sunday afternoon, March 23.
