Pac-10 Play In Full Swing For No. 19 Softball This Weekend

Pac-10 Play Resumes
Because of heavy snow in Colorado, Oregon's planned trip to face Colorado State in Fort Collins last week were cancelled. Oregon now resumes Pac-10 play, traveling to the desert to face No. 14 Arizona State and No. 3 Arizona this weekend.
ESPN.COM/USA SOFTBALL COLLEGIATE TOP 25 POLL
The Amateur Softball Association (ASA) released the first-ever ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 poll on Feb. 25. Oregon debuted at No. 22 and has moved up three spots to No. 19 this week. All eight Pac-10 teams are ranked, including, No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 Arizona and No. 3 Washington.
NFCA TOP 25
Oregon broke into the NFCA Top 25 at No. 25 on Jan. 29. This week, the Ducks moved up to No. 19. Oregon had not been ranked in the NFCA Poll since March 8, 2001. All eight Pac-10 teams are ranked in the NFCA Poll, led by No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 Washington and No. 3 Arizona.
ERIN GOODELL - PAC-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK (MARCH 10-16)
Oregon sophomore second baseman Erin Goodell (Roseburg) was named the Pac-10 Player of the Week for the week of March 10-16. Goodell hit two home runs against No. 17 Oregon State to lead the Ducks to a 10-2 victory. Goodell had three RBI and three runs scored in the game. It is the first Pac-10 honor for Goodell, who hit two home runs total in 2002.
The Ducks have not played since opening Pac-10 play vs. No. 17 Oregon State in Corvallis March 15. Oregon dominated the Beavers, winning 10-2. Oregon sophomore Erin Goodell had two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored in the game as the Ducks tied a season-high with 13 hits. Senior Amber Hutchison was 4-for-5 while freshman Beth Boskovich was 3-for-4. Pitcher Amy Harris had five strikeouts and allowed zero earned runs in the game to improve to 3-1 vs. ranked opponents this season. It marked the first time since 1998 that the Ducks won their conference opener and Oregon's first win over the Beavers since 1999.
