Women's Tennis Falls to No. 12 UCLA, 1-6

LOS ANGELES - The No. 46 Arizona women's tennis team remains winless in the Pac-10 following a second loss to UCLA this season, 1-6. The Wildcats fall to 5-8 on the season, 0-7 in the Pac-10.

The Bruins took two of three doubles matches to win the doubles point. In the No. 1 spot, sophomore Maja Mlakar and graduate student Emilie Scribot fell to Jackie Carleton and Feriel Esseghir, 8-6. In the second spot, junior Debbie Larocque and freshman Kristy Randono were defeated by Sarah Gregg and Susi Wild, 8-5. In the third position, sophomores Dianne Hollands and Kelly Perry teamed up to defeat Laura Gordon and Anya Loncaric, 8-5.

In singles play, No. 20 Scribot tallied the only Wildcat singles win of the match, defeating No. 23 Carleton in the top spot, 6-3, 7-5. In the second spot, No. 75 Mlakar fell to No. 58 Wild, 6-4, 6-3. No 54 Hollands was upset in the third spot by No. 79 Gregg, 6-4, 7-5. UCLA's Gordon defeated Larocque in the fourth spot, 6-4, 6-4. Perry fell to Loncaric in the fifth spot, 0-6, 6-2, 6-2. Randono was defeated in the sixth spot by Shilpa Joshi, 6-4, 6-0.

The Wildcat women's tennis team will search for its first conference win versus No. 4 Pac-10 powerhouse USC Saturday at noon.
