Men's Tennis Falls to the No. 4 Bruins of UCLA 6-1
March 29, 2003
Tempe, AZ- The Arizona State Men's Tennis Team looked to keep their undefeated record in Pac-10 duals, but lost a tough 6-1 match to the No. 4-ranked UCLA on Saturday afternoon at ASU's Whiteman Tennis Center.
The Devils were just unable to ignite the momentum that showed in their victory over USC, as the Bruins swept all three doubles matches.
Singles painted a similar story for the Devils, except for Chris Letcher's tense 6-4, 7-6(8) victory over Erfan Djahangiri, stealing the shut out from the Bruins.
The Sun Devils will fall to 6-9 and 2-1 in Pac-10 dual as the Bruins advance to 15-1 and 2-0 in the Pac-10.
The Sun Devils will return to action next Friday and Saturday April 4th and 5th against Pac-10 foes Washington and Oregon.
Both matches are scheduled to be played at ASU's Whiteman Tennis Center.
