Bruins Begin Play at Western Intercollegiates

The 11th ranked UCLA men's golf team begins play today at the 56th Annual Western Intercollegiates, hosted by San Jose State University at storied Pasatiempo Golf Course near Santa Cruz.
Pasatiempo will play to a par of 70 over 6,445 yards. Washington is the defending champion.
The Bruins will field a squad of four juniors and one sophomore in the 18-team tournament.
Juniors Steve Conway (71.3), Roy Moon (71.5), John Merrick (72.2) and Travis Johnson (72.2) and sophomore John Poucher (73.6) will comprise UCLA's squad. Conway won the Cleveland Classic last month to become the first UCLA player to earn medalist honors in six years.
Thirty-six holes will be played Monday and the final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday. Results will be posted later this evening.
