UCLA Women Travel to San Diego This Weekend (April 11-12) for the 2003 Cal/NV T & F Championships

This Weekend (April 11-12) - Jeanette Bolden's UCLA women's track & field team will compete at the 2003 California/Nevada State Track & Field Championships, hosted by San Diego State at the SDSU Sports Deck.
Friday's competition starts at 11 a.m. and concludes at 6:30 p.m. There are only five finals on Friday (women's hammer throw, men's javelin, women and men's 3000m steeplechase, women's 3000m). On Saturday (all finals), the field events start at 11 a.m. and the running events at 1 p.m.. The meet concludes on Saturday at 3:50 p.m. with the women and men's 4 X 400m relays.
In 2002, the UCLA women placed sixth (69 points) at the Cal/NV Championships (with a partial squad; the Bruin women will again send a partial squad to this weekend's event in San Diego). Leading the Bruins were throwers Briona Reynolds, Jessica Cosby, Chaniqua Ross and Cari Soong. Reynolds won the shot put (52-9.25), Cosby was second in the shot put (52-3.25) and fifth in the hammer throw (185-5), Ross was second in the discus (169-9) and Soong won the hammer throw (206-7).
