Men's Golf Will Face Eight of Ten Pac-10 Teams at Thunderbird Invite

What's Happening This Week: WSU men's golf will travel to Tempe, Ariz. for the 31st annual ASU Thunderbird Invitational at the Par 72, 7,037 yard Karsten Golf Course...the first 36 holes will be played Friday, Apr. 11, followed by final round action the 12th...last year's team champion was Texas with a record 32-under 832.

Field: The 18-team field will consist of Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Colorado, Houston, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, Stanford, Texas, TCU, UCLA, UNLV, USC, and Washington State.

Head Coach Walt Williams At The Thunderbird Invite: 'This is an opportunity for us to show we can play with the big boys. This is the strongest field that we'll see all year long, and we can show them all that we belong. It's really an exciting opportunity.'

What Happened Last Tournament: Led by the final round 66 by Ryan Camp, the Washington State men's golf team climbed up three more spots to finish at 13th at the Border Olympics at the Par 72, 7,125 yard Laredo Country Club at Laredo, Texas. Camp was just one stroke away from tying his own record-sharing mark of 65 for the Cougars best single round score. The effort thrust Camp up the leader board for an eleventh place finish after ending round two tied at 36th. Camp's 66 was also the best score of the last day by nearly three strokes. Dustin White just missed another Top 25 finish ending the day at a tie for 28th, followed by Isaac Woods at a tie for 56th, Ryan Ressa at 88th, and Chad Carlson at 96th. WSU shot below 290 as a team for the second consecutive round and moved up a total of seven spots from where they sat after round one. The Cougars blistered the course in round two, scoring the second lowest total for any team at 286, and moved up four spots into 16th place before the final round action.
