LOS ANGELES - UCLA women's soccer coach Jillian Ellis has been selected to head the USYSA adidas All-Star Team and assist with the Under-16 U.S. National Team in separate trips to Europe, April 18-May 6.

Ellis will begin her journey as head coach of the USYSA adidas All-Star Team, April 18-28. The team, consisting of players from the Under-19 U.S. National Team Player Pool, will play matches in Germany, Holland and Belgium. Her assistant on that trip will be Louisville head coach Karen Ferguson.

Following that tour, she will travel directly to Ireland to serve as assistant coach of the Under-16 U.S. National Team. The U-16's will be in Ireland from April 28-May 6. Head coach of that squad will be Georgia's Sue Montagne Patberg.

'It's a privilege to have the opportunity to coach some of the best youth players in America,' said Ellis. 'This will be my first trip since stepping down as head coach of the Under-21 U.S. Team so I'm excited to be a part of the National Team Program again.'

Added Ferguson, 'I'm extremely excited to have this opportunity to go overseas with such a talented group of young women. We will be in countries that are fanatical about soccer so the competition will be great. Also, I am thrilled to be working with such a highly respected coach as Jill Ellis.'
