Cougar Tennis Travels To Seattle

THIS WEEK: The No. 46 Washington State women's tennis team (7-12, 0-7 Pac-10) heads to Seattle for its final match of the season. WSU takes on the Huskies Saturday at noon.

THE SERIES: Washington State has been victorious in six of the 32 matches against UW. The Cougars lost to the Huskies 7-0, March 2 in Lewiston, Idaho.

RANKED COUGS: WSU junior Lorena Arias is ranked No. 111 in the ITA's April 9 National Rankings. Cougar sophomore Orsolya Sallai is ranked No. 113 nationally.

COUGAR TOP TEN: Two WSU doubles tandems, Lorena Arias/Chris Martinez and Zsofi Fodor/Nora Gaal, have won 17 doubles matches this season, which ties them for sixth on the WSU single-season list. Last season, Erica Perkins and Stacy McKenna set the Cougar record with 24 victories. Arias/Martinez won 19 doubles matches last season, giving them 36 career doubles victories, second on the WSU list. Cougars Binky Lehto and Brenda Tate set the WSU record with 46 careers doubles wins from 1982-84.

HOT COUGS: Washington State has won three matches against ITA ranked opponents. The Cougars have defeated No. 65 New Mexico (Feb. 15), No. 58 Boise State (Feb. 16) and No. 49 BYU (Feb. 28) this season.

NEXT WEEK: After the Huskies, the Cougars will head to Ojai, California for the Pac-10 Championships (April 24-27).
