Two Gymnasts Named to Pac-10 All-Academic Team

Seattle - A pair of Washington gymnasts where named to the Pac-10's first-team All-Academic squad for winter sports. Juniors Amy Metcalf (Yakima) and Molly Seaman (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) were two of six gymnasts named to the first team.

Metcalf owns a 3.84 grade point average as a pre-med major. She is a three-year letterwinner who competed on bars, beam and floor for the Huskies this season. Metcalf was a second-team selection as a sophomore. Seaman, also a pre-med major, owns a 3.8 GPA. She also competed on bars, beam and floor this season before being sidelined by a knee injury midseason.

Washington's Courtney Canavan, Carly Dockendorf, Tacia Labatte, Kim Lewis, Tonya Powers and Emily Pritchard were all honorable mention selections. To be nominated for the Pac-10 All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average and be either a starter or significant reserve.
