The 11th ranked UCLA men's golf team prepares for the annual U.S. Intercollegiate hosted by Stanford at the Stanford Golf Course, Apr. 19-20, in Palo Alto, CA.

The Bruins, winners of four tournaments this season, are aiming to capture another against a quality field in preparation for the Pacific-10 Championships, Apr. 28-30 at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, CA. UCLA will serve as host.

'The U.S. Intercollegiate is one of the finest tournaments on the West Coast,' said Head Coach O.D. Vincent. 'Our team is looking forward to improving its position in the rankings.'

At the ASU Thunderbird Invitational the Bruins finished 19th, fielding four players who had seen less than 10 rounds of competition this season. Sophomore John Poucher, who has played nine rounds this year, finished in a tie for 11th place at eight-under par 208.

No other UCLA player finished among the top 50 individuals at ASU.

'We decided to rest the players who won at Pasatiempo and give some of our other players the opportunity to compete in Tempe,' said Vincent.

Returning to the lineup this weekend will be a fivesome that has won three of the Bruins' four tournament titles.
