April 22, 2003

The Bruins (19-25) returned home to Jackie Robinson Stadium after a seven-game road swing to fall to top-ranked Cal State Fullerton (35-8) in front of 392 fans on Tuesday night.

The Titans broke on to the board in the second inning with three runs. Kurt Suzuki knocked in the first run before a double from Jason Corapci scored two more. Cal State Fullerton would add another in the third on a solo home run from Kyle Boyer.

Senior Warren Trott would post the only Bruin run in the bottom of the fourth with his first career home run over the left field fence. After four innings, UCLA trailed 4-1.

Cal State Fullerton would post six runs in the top of the sixth inning as two doubles, two singles, a wild pitch, two walks and a hit batter brought the runs in. Richie Burgos added his third double in the inning, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI on the day.

The Bruins would be unable to get onto the board again as relievers Travis Ingle and Sean Martin combined for four innings of no-hit baseball. Closer Chad Cordero allowed two hits in the ninth, but recorded three strikeouts to end the game.

Trott, along with Billy Susdorf would lead UCLA with two hits each, while Wes Whisler, Ryan McCarthy and Kyle Mowery each added a hit.
