Cardinal Men In Third At Pac-10 Championships

Glendale, Calif. - The Stanford men's golf team shot a 376 this afternoon at the 2003 Pac-10 Championships in Glendale, Calif., and are in third place overall (1109) heading into tomorrow's final round of play. UCLA still leads the 10-team field with a one-over par 1061 after three rounds. Arizona moved into second place with an 1104. Rounding out the top five are Washington (1114) and Arizona State (1119).

Cardinal senior Jim Seki shot an even-par 72 today to move into a tie for first place on the individual leaderboard with a three-round score of three-under par 213, along with UCLA's John Merrick. Cameron MacKenzie, from Oregon State, is third (214) while UCLA's Steve Conway is fourth (215). Bruin Travis Johnson rounds out the top five with a 216.

Senior Ron Won is tied for 21st individually with a 224 (74-74-76) while teammate Blake Mastalir is 25th after carding a 225 (76-73-76). Sophomore Kevin Blue is tied for 26th with a 226 (78-71-77) and senior George Downing is tied for 35th (75-79-75--229). Freshman Kyle Gentry shot a 78 today.

The final 18 holes of golf will be played tomorrow at the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, Calif. Tee times will begin at 8 a.m. Live stats will be available at
