Oregon's Ellis Earns First-Team All-League Honors

EUGENE, Ore. - Senior John Ellis was named to the Pacific-10 Conference's first-team all-league contingent after finishing 14th in this week's conference championships in Glendale, Calif.
The San Jose, Calif., senior completed the regular season with a team-best 71.4 average while garnering five top-10 finishes and another 10 top-50 finishes his final collegiate year to become the Ducks' first first-team conference honoree in three years. Ellis' top finish of the 2002-03 season came at the Oregon hosted Duck Invitational where he tied for top honors. A season best round of 65 at the Alister Mackenzie Invitational, placed him among the top five lowest rounds in school history.
Ellis completed his sophomore season as a second-team all-conference selection before receiving honor mention acclaim following last year.
In addition, Oregon senior Chris Carnahan was awarded honorable mention recognition.
Joining Ellis on the all-league first-team were Pac-10 champion John Merrick from UCLA, Ricky Barnes (Arizona), Steve Conway (UCLA), Brock Mackenzie (Washington), Chris Nallen (Arizona), Chez Reavie (Arizona State), and Peter Tomasulo (California).
