UCLA Gymnastics Signs Lori Winn To National Letter Of Intent

May 6, 2003

The NCAA champion UCLA Women's Gymnastics team has signed senior international elite Lori Winn (Oklahoma City, OK/Putnam City HS) to a national letter of intent. Winn will join the Bruin squad for the 2004 season.

Winn, a member of the 2000 U.S. Junior National Team, finished 16th at the 2002 U.S. Classic and earned Top 25 showings at the 2001 USA Championships and U.S. Classic. At the junior level, she placed 16th at the USA Championships in 2000 and won the 1999 Level 10 national championship. Winn trains at Bart Connor Gymnastics under Jenny Rowland and Pat Warren. She previously trained under coaches Steve Nunno, Marc Hottenstein and Shannon Horn at Dynamo Gymnastics.

'Adding Lori Winn to our freshman class next year is truly like adding an exclamation point on an already very talented class,' said UCLA head coach Valorie Kondos Field. 'Lori will bring excellence and poise to all four events, and she is as tenacious as they come. That is exactly what we need to replace the seniors we are losing.'

Joining Winn in the 2004 freshman class are Ashley Peckett, Aimee Walker and Courtney Walker, all of whom signed in the early signing period.
