Women's Golf Puts Up Season-Low Round To Grab Early Lead At NCAA West Regionals

Tempe, Ariz. - Senior All-American Mikaela Parmlid shot a five under par 67 as the No. 4 USC women's golf team fired a season-low 279 to take the lead after one round of the 72-hole NCAA West Regional Championships held at Arizona State's Karsten Golf Course.

The Women of Troy also got rounds of 68 (-4) from freshma Tanya Dergal and 70 (-1) from senior Becky Lucidi to take a nine-stroke lead ahead of second place Oklahoma State (288).

Parmlid is tied for the individual lead with Sunny Oh of UNLV, while Dergal is third and Lucidi tied for eighth.

Not far behind is junior Anna Rawson in a tie for 23rd (73). Freshman Irene Cho shot 79 and is tied for 83rd.

The Women of Troy last won the NCAA West Regional Championship in 1999.
