Cal Results From Modesto Relays

The University of California's track and field teams had several Golden Bears compete at Saturday's Modesto Relays. The elite meet featured athletes from around the world in various levels of competition.

Freshmen Mary Meyman and Teak Wilburn competed in the 100-meter hurdles and high jump events, respectively. In section one of the 100m hurdles, Meyman finished sixth with a time of 14.37. This season, Meyman qualified for the Pac-10 Championships by a time of 14.17.

Wilburn tied for fifth in the high jump with a leap of 7-1.75. His season-best mark of 7-3.25, is tops in the Pac-10.

Pole vaulters, senior Leora Ward and sophomore Danielle Navarre also competed at the Modesto Relays. Both tied for fifth place with a vault of 12-1.50. Their season-best is 12-5.50, which meets NCAA regional and Pac-10 qualifying standards.

Next up for the Bears is the Pac-10 Track and Field Championships, Saturday-Sunday, May 17-18 in Los Angeles, Calif. USC serves as the host. Check for complete recaps and results.
