Lillian Bush - Second in Heptathlon At Pacific-10 Championships

Los Angeles, Ca - Lillian Bush produced the second-best all-time heptathlon point total in school history to help her finish second at the 2003 Pacific-10 Heptathlon/Decathlon Championships on Sunday at USC.
Bush chalked up a career-best 5,519 points over the two-day, seven-event competition. Bush's total is only second-best to Tracye Lawyer who chalked up 5,855 points in 1999.
Ellannee Richardson of Washington State won the league title for a third straight season with 5,766 points.
In Sunday's three-event competition, Bush finished first in the 800 meters, second in the long jump and fourth in the javelin. Bush collected 897 points with a time of 2:14.73 in the 800 meters, and added 834 points with a second place finish in the long jump (19-6 1/4, 5.95m), and 562 points with a fourth place showing in the javelin (113-1, 34.38m).
Bush' total automatically qualifies for the NCAA Championshipsin in June 11-14 at Sacramento State.
Ahimsa Hodari finished fifth with a career-best 5,021 points. Hodari's point total is eighth-best in school history.
In the decathlon, Timi Wusu placed sixth among eleven competitors. Wusu finished the two-day, ten-event competition with a career-best 7,016 points. Wusu's point total is seventh-best in Stanford history and becomes only the eighth decathlete in Stanford history to surpass 7,000 points.
Oregon's Santiago Lorenzo won the Pac-10 title for a second time with 7,564 points.
The rest of the 2003 Pac-10 Track & Field Championships, hosted for the first time ever on the campus of USC, resumes May 17-18 at Loker Stadium.
