Softball Headed To Fullerton For NCAA Regionals

EUGENE - The University of Oregon softball team will travel to Fullerton, Calif., as the No. 3 seed in the eight team regional hosted by the Titans. The Ducks (32-17overall, 10-11 Pacific-10 Conference) finished tied for third in the conference and are returning to the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2000.
'We are extremely pleased with our selection,' Oregon head coach Kathy Arendsen said. 'We don't have to travel across the country which gives the families and other Duck fans an opportunity to come watch us. We are very excited.'
The Ducks kick off tournament play versus sixth-seeded Penn State (30-21 overall, 9-9 Big Ten) Thursday at 2 p.m. Fullerton is the No. 1 seed while Oklahoma State earned the No. 2 seed. Other teams competing in Fullerton May 15-18 are fourth-seeded Louisiana-Lafayette, fifth-seeded San Diego State, No. 7 seed Boston University and Rider is the final team with the No. 8 seed.
