Baseball Heads To Long Beach For NCAA Tourney

The Washington baseball team has received the No. 3 seed in the NCAA Long Beach Regional and will open postseason play Friday vs. Minnesota.

The Huskies (40-16 overall, 15-9 in the Pac-10) will travel to Long Beach Wednesday. Long Beach State, the region's host team, will face fourth-seeded Pepperdine in a first-round game. The Huskies will take on second-seed Minnesota, the Big Ten runner-up.

The winner of the double-elimination regional, which wraps up Sunday, will play the winner of the Stanford regional (No. 1 Stanford, No. 2 Richmond, No. 3 UC Riverside, No. 4 Illinois-Chicago) in the Super Regionals, June 6-8.
