Catalina Morris Tabbed NFCA Third Team All-American

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford softball freshman outfielder Catalina Morris (Sonoita, AZ) was named a Third-Team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Wednesday night. The teams were announced at the Opening Ceremonies for the Women's College World Series.
Morris was also named to the First Team All-Pacific region team and led the squad with 38 runs scored, 93 total bases and 11 stolen bases. She finished the season batting .324 with 10 doubles, seven home runs and 28 RBI. The Second Team All-Pac-10 member also holds a .964 fielding percentage, committing just two errors in center field.
Junior pitcher Dana Sorensen (San Diego, CA) also joined Morris on the All-Region team. Sorensen earned Second Team Region accolades after being selected to the First Team All-Pac-10 Team for the second time in her career. She finished the season with a 21-11 mark and held a 1.09 ERA with 332 strikeouts. Sorensen holds the record with 71 career wins, marking the most in program history. She also has Stanford's career and season strikeout marks. Sorensen has tallied 16 double-digit strikeout performances and was named Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week and the Speedline Invitational's Most Valuable Pitcher.
